God's Purpose and Ours

God's purpose for people is to conform them to the likeness of His Son. (Rom. 8:29) This is an amazingly high and lofty goal. One which requires much of us. We are about the Father's business here at Faith Family Church. Our vision is: "To be a great commission church that transforms unbelievers into fully mature followers of Christ."

This transformation occurs in two processes with important events along the way.

• The first process leads a person to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

• The second process grows a believer into a fully mature fruit-bearing disciple.

Every person is in one of these processes and needs to be moving toward God's purpose. As we experience movement we experience joy and meaning in life.

Growth is not an option. It is mandated by Jesus Christ in passages like:

Matt 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
